Introduction

Since I was little, long before I learned English, everyone around told me « The best way to learn English is to travel ». At school you learn the grammatical basics of the language but you do not really practice. That is the reason why after studying my degree, I did my first linguistic travel in the United States of America in a host family during 1 month. This experience has allowed me to improve my basic English as well as learn a lot of new vocabulary. Last year, I have had the chance to travel in Florida with my cousin during one month, it was my birthday present for my twenty one years old to celebrate my new majority. I met several american people, I really had the opportunity to speak English.

Unfortunately to keep a good level in a language, you have to practice regularly, this is the most difficult part of the learning process. However, with a little motivation everybody can speak fluently even if you make some mistakes the most important is to make yourself understood. In order to achieve this, you can read press articles, books or watch a movie without subtitles or translate lyrics of songs, there are a lot of tricks you have to find yours. The pronunciation is very important also, because if you know vocabulary and your interlocutor doesn’t understand what you say when you are talking, it’s problematic. As a result, most of the work still remains to speak the language and  make efforts on your pronunciation, that is why I agree with people around me : « The best way to learn English is to travel ».

I always loved traveling, discovering new cultures, new landscapes, new gastronomies, new people.

I have the opportunity to go abroad in partnership with my communication school, I jumped at the chance. I chose an English-speaking country to boost my level, an essential need for my future job. I would like to work in the events. In this sector you have to move around the world to help your team to set up an event. Today most of the firms need bilingual employees.

I had the choice between New-York, Dublin and Cork. I wanted to live in a big city because I was afraid of getting bored and going in circles, so I quickly eliminated Cork of my choices to keep New-York and Dublin.

On the one hand I have chosen Ireland because it was really cheaper than New-York and on the other hand everybody around me who have been in Dublin were happy about their experiences and warmly recommended me to go there. Effectively it’s a town full of charm and the Irish people are very welcoming.
