"Jerry Maguire"
« Jerry Maguire » is a dramatic comedy, directed by Cameron Crowe. Jerry Maguire is a sports agent, who dreams about a more sincere social life. One day, he loses all his clients except Rod, a footballer and Dorothy, his assistant. He will bet everything on these people to change his life and to live more freely like he wanted. He experiences some hard moments but at the end, they win the football match and this was a beautiful victory for Rod and especially Jerry Maguire who wanted to reconquer with Dorothy. After a lot of questions about his marriage with Dorothy, Jerry Maguire realizes that she is the wife of his life, he will prove his love to her during a meeting with her friends. She will accept his excuse and he visualizes a new future for him with his wife and her son.
"Toys Story 1"
I saw « Toys Story » with my boyfriend on the Galway coach on the way back to Dublin. We watched it in English without subtitles on my digital tablet. This movie is an american cartoon, a co-production Pixar/Disney. I didn’t look it since I was little, therefore, I didn’t have memories about it. Nonetheless, I understood all the scenes, the accent was easily clear to comprehend.
The main character is Andy. As all children, he has a lot of toys. He does not know but they are alive. Each time that he leaves his bedroom, they come to life. He loves to play with the cowboy « Woody », his favorite doll.
The day of his birthday, he can’t imagine that his toys are becoming anxious. They are afraid to be abandoned by Andy because of his new gifts. In other words they are jealous. They decide to organize an espionage mission to find out what the presents hide. When they discover the new « Buzz Lightyear », a technologic spaceman figure, they are intimidate and terrified, especially Woody. Moreover Andy’s family relocate soon and he is supposed to keep only one toy with him.
Then Woody realizes that Buzz Lightyear become more and more appreciated by his owner and the other toys. He does not want to be replaced by someone else.
Suddenly Buzz falls by accident out of the window. The worst vicious child in the world, Andy’s neighbor, takes him to his place. Woody changes his mind, he decides to rescue Buzz and to take him back to his owner. In spite of his jealousy, he admires him a lot.
Who have never hoped that toys were alive ?
