Van GOGH'S BIOGRAPHY
We listened a music about Van Gogh in class and the teacher asked us to do some research about this painter. Here my short biography of Van Gogh :
A post-impressionist painter whose work, notable for its beauty, emotion and colors, highly influenced 20th century art.
Vincent Van Gogh was born on 30 March 1853 in Groot-Zundert in the southern Netherlands.
At the age of 16, he found a job at the Hague gallery, a company of art dealing business « Goupil et Cie » which was headed by French people and where his brother, Theo, worked. Van Gogh's job took him to London and Paris but he lost his interest for the art dealing business. He finally resigned from Goupil & Cie in 1876.
It’s only in 1880, at the age of 27 that he decided to become an artist.
Vincent Van Gogh didn’t have a happy life. His paintings hasn’t been appreciated by the public until his death, he didn’t have a lot of friends except his brother. On top of that, he had health problems and mental health issues. He committed suicide in France on July 29, 1890, at the age 37 by shooting himself in his chest and died two days later.
