THE SPIRE

The Spire is like the Eiffel Tower for French people that means that is the symbol of Dublin and Ireland around the world. It is an elongated cone of steel located on O’Connell Street. It is impossible to miss it because of its huge size. The monument is 120 metres in height. In my opinion it’s not very magnificent but it has its charm.

The Spire was designed by Ian Ritchie Architects and constructed in 2003 to signaled the start of the reconstruction of a new public domain for O’Connell Street.

This construction is the world’s tallest sculpture of the world !
